About the Role
Confluence Theater of Pittsburgh is seeking an Education Marketing & Group Sales Specialist to join our Advancement and Revenue team. This role is ideal for a collaborative, relationship-focused professional who is passionate about connecting schools, families, community organizations, and audiences with meaningful theater and educational experiences.

Reporting to the Audience Acquisition Manager, the Education Marketing & Group Sales Specialist is responsible for growing education-related earned revenue and audience participation through group sales, school partnerships, and targeted marketing initiatives. The position works closely with the Education Department to build relationships with schools, community groups, and organizations while partnering with Development to identify potential funding, sponsorship, and donor opportunities.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days onsite in Pittsburgh. 


Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing, group sales, and community outreach initiatives that increase participation and earned revenue for education programming, including classes, workshops, summer camps, Gallery of Heroes tours, student matinees, and school partnerships.
  • Develop and administer group sales promotions, discount codes, and ticketing processes for schools, youth organizations, community groups, and accessibility-focused audiences in coordination with internal teams and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Group Sales team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for education- and accessibility-related group sales, classes, camps, and program inquiries, including processing orders and invoices and coordinating ticketing and participation logistics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, educators, youth organizations, community partners, and accessibility-focused organizations while identifying potential funding, sponsorship, and donor relationships for referral to the Development Department.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and distribute targeted email, print, and digital materials that drive group sales, program registration, and participation.
  • Partner with Education and Artistic teams to align marketing and group sales efforts with student matinees, study guides, talkbacks, classes, workshops, camps, and other educational programming.
  • Manage community and charitable ticketing programs, including donated tickets and corporate sponsor allocations.
  • Support marketing and engagement events for school, group, education, and accessibility-focused audiences, including attendance, logistics, hospitality, and the on-site audience experience.
  • Track, analyze, and report on group sales, program enrollment, participation, and education-related earned revenue to identify opportunities for continued growth.
  • Represent Confluence Theater alongside the Education team at school and community events, partner meetings, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Support audience development strategies that create pathways from student participation to broader household and family engagement.
  • Provide backup support for Marketing team functions during high-demand periods or staff absences.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Education, Communications, Arts Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in group sales, education programming, audience engagement, community outreach, marketing, or a related field required.
  • Experience working with schools, educational organizations, community partners, or accessibility-focused organizations preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with external ticketing, group sales, school, or community partners preferred.
  • Experience with Tessitura or comparable CRM/ticketing systems and email marketing platforms preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain applicable Pennsylvania clearances required for working with children and educational programs.
